Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems, Ltd. (MHI Thermal Systems), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, is expanding its KXZ3 Series of building-use multi-split air-conditioners, according to a January 17, 2026 announcement. The product expansion is meant to meet growing demand in overseas markets, reflecting a notable shift in strategy for MHI Thermal Systems.
The multi-split air-conditioners in question use an R32 refrigerant, which is recognized for its lower environmental impact as compared to traditional refrigerants. This move follows the company’s aim to improve environmental sustainability while maintaining high-quality product standards.
Mass production of the expanded KXZ3 Series has reportedly already begun. The expansion signifies the company’s move to assert its presence internationally in the air-conditioning industry.
