Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has announced the commencement of sales for its hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) model of the Xforce compact SUV in Indonesia. This launch marks Mitsubishi Motors' first HEV introduction to the Indonesian market and the first to be manufactured locally at PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia, the company's production hub in the country.
The Xforce, a five-passenger compact SUV, was developed under the concept of being the 'Best-suited buddy for an exciting life.' Since its initial launch in Indonesia in November 2023, the model has expanded its reach to ASEAN markets such as Vietnam and the Philippines, as well as regions including Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. The model has become one of Mitsubishi Motors' key global strategic offerings, with sales growing across these regions.
The Xforce HEV is well-received for its stylish yet robust SUV design, offering a spacious and comfortable cabin for five passengers while maintaining a compact body size for maneuverability. The model incorporates an HEV system derived from Mitsubishi Motors' renowned plug-in hybrid EV (PHEV) technology, enhancing its appeal through improved fuel efficiency, eco-friendliness, and powerful acceleration.
Built on a front-wheel-drive system, the Xforce HEV utilizes Mitsubishi Motors' distinctive all-wheel control technologies, including Active Yaw Control (AYC), to ensure safe and secure driving. Drivers can select EV modes based on their needs, allowing for quiet operation when preferred, which combines eco-friendliness with the powerful and smooth driving experience unique to electrified vehicles.
