Murakami Farm Reports Surge in Sales of Broccoli Super Sprouts in Taiwan

Murakami Farm Co., Ltd. has announced that its sales of Broccoli Super Sprouts in Taiwan, produced under a licensing agreement with Taiwanese company Greenvines, doubled in fiscal year 2025 compared to the previous year. This marks a significant milestone for Murakami Farm's first overseas licensing venture.

With a leading market share in Japan's sprout industry, Murakami Farm initially entered a licensing deal with Greenvines in 2021. Shipments of the Japan-grown sprouts began in 2022, providing Taiwan with products distinguished by advanced production and quality management techniques afforded by Murakami Farm's long-standing expertise.

The rapid growth in the Taiwan market is attributed to heightened health awareness and strong consumer confidence in Japanese brands. The Taiwan region is seeing an increase in dining out, due to more dual-income households, which has led to insufficient consumption of fresh vegetables. Additionally, an aging population, similar to Japan's, is becoming more health-conscious. These factors have driven demand for nutrient-rich products like Broccoli Super Sprouts, known for their high sulforaphane content, which appeals to health-conscious consumers.

Key to maintaining product integrity, Murakami Farm regularly measures the sulforaphane content of its Taiwanese products at its Sulforaphane Laboratory to ensure compliance with quality standards. This process underscores the company's commitment to safety and quality in its licensed products.

Murakami Farm's strategic plan includes strengthening its foothold in the Taiwan market and expanding its licensing operations throughout Asia. By leveraging its plant factory techniques, the company aims to deliver consistent product quality year-round, regardless of environmental variations, ensuring sustainable growth in the global market.
