Mitsubishi Motors Debuts Versa Van in Philippine Market

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has launched the all-new Versa Van in the Philippines, expanding its commercial vehicle offerings through Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation, a subsidiary of the global automotive giant. The sales commenced on February 6, showcasing a strategic collaboration with Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., which supplies the vehicle as an OEM model.

The Versa Van, equipped with five rows of seating for up to 15 passengers, is designed for a variety of commercial applications, particularly in shuttle services. It is powered by a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder diesel engine, offering robust performance and torque suitable for steep terrains and heavy loads. With this addition, Mitsubishi aims to bolster its presence in the commercial vehicle market alongside its existing L300 model.

This launch is a reflection of the ongoing partnership between Mitsubishi Motors and Nissan, which involves joint development and production initiatives. This collaboration extends beyond the Versa Van to include other vehicle models supplied across different markets, optimizing manufacturing processes and expanding model lineups.

Mitsubishi Motors also plans to introduce an all-new electric vehicle derived from Nissan's new LEAF to the North American market later in 2026. This move aligns with Mitsubishi's strategy to enhance its product portfolio and leverage synergies within the Alliance to drive growth in electrified vehicles.

The company intends to continue leveraging its partnerships to expand its product lineup and strengthen regional operations, aiming for increased profitability and market reach.
