TransNusa Achieves Record Passenger Growth in Southeast Asia

TransNusa, an Indonesian airline, has been recognized for its exceptional passenger growth in Southeast Asia, earning the Top Airline By Absolute Passenger Growth In Southeast Asia award at the 2026 Changi Airline Awards. The accolade was presented by the Changi Airport Group, marking the first time an Indonesian airline has achieved this recognition.

Led by CEO Datuk Bernard Francis, TransNusa commenced operations at Changi Airport on November 20, 2023, and has seen rapid growth since. The award reflects the airline's strategic development of regional network connectivity, which has been pivotal in driving passenger demand and operational success.

Datuk Bernard Francis highlighted the significance of the award as a testament to TransNusa's commitment to meeting passenger needs through strategic route development. The airline has introduced new routes, including flights from Bali to Manado and scheduled flights to Guangzhou, China, from Bali, Manado, and Jakarta.

Since its inception in 2023, TransNusa has adopted a customized business model, transitioning to a Premium Service Carrier in 2025. This rebranding focuses on enhancing passenger comfort, offering flexible booking options, and providing additional services such as increased baggage allowances and complimentary meals.

The airline's rapid expansion and innovative service offerings have positioned it as one of the fastest-growing airlines in the region. TransNusa's success is attributed to the collective efforts of its team, partners, and the confidence of its passengers, reinforcing its status in the competitive Southeast Asian aviation market.
