Fujitsu Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Anthropic PBC to integrate advanced AI technologies into its operations, aiming to accelerate AI transformation for Japanese enterprises. The collaboration, formalized on May 27, 2026, will see Fujitsu leveraging Anthropic's AI models, including Claude, to enhance the safety and reliability of critical social infrastructure.
As AI continues to evolve from a tool for operational efficiency to a foundational technology, Fujitsu's initiative seeks to address the need for reliable AI applications in sectors such as government, finance, healthcare, and defense. The company plans to utilize Anthropic's technologies internally, gaining practical expertise to drive AI transformation across industries.
Fujitsu will gain early access to Anthropic's latest AI models, which will be combined with its own AI technologies, including the AI platform Fujitsu Kozuchi and the Takane large language model. This integration will allow Fujitsu to design and deliver optimal AI solutions tailored to customer requirements, such as data sovereignty and regulatory compliance.
The partnership will also focus on strengthening Fujitsu's Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) business model. By incorporating Anthropic's Claude, Fujitsu aims to translate AI into tangible business value, enhancing its ability to deliver AI applications that align closely with customer needs.
In the realm of cybersecurity, Fujitsu plans to enhance its capabilities by transitioning from traditional, expert-dependent models to next-generation approaches that combine human expertise with AI. This initiative, supported by collaboration with the Japanese government, aims to bolster cyber defense across enterprises and critical infrastructure.
Fujitsu will implement Anthropic's AI models across its 100,000 employees to validate safe and secure AI usage, establishing frameworks that ensure transparency and controllability. The insights gained will be shared with customers to promote reliable AI adoption in Japan.
Fujitsu's CEO, Takahito Tokita, emphasized the importance of swiftly implementing AI to create value across industries and support a trustworthy, AI-driven society. Yoshinami Takahashi, Corporate Executive Officer, highlighted Fujitsu's commitment to transforming internal operations and enabling business transformation for customers through the partnership.
