Japantastics Debuts Platform to Showcase Japan’s Craftsmanship Globally

Japantastics, Inc., a Tokyo-based company, has launched Japantastics.jp, an online platform designed to introduce authentic Japanese craftsmanship to a global audience. The new platform aims to bridge the gap between Japan's skilled artisans and international consumers who appreciate the intricacies of high-quality, Japan-made products.

Despite Japan's booming tourist industry, which saw over 40 million visitors in 2025, the country's artisanal products often remain inaccessible to international consumers. Many artisans focus primarily on the domestic market, leaving their work relatively unknown outside Japan. Japantastics seeks to change this by curating and promoting products that embody craftsmanship, engineering excellence, and rich cultural narratives.

The co-founder of Japantastics, Aki Tsukioka, emphasized the company's focus on quality and storytelling. “Interest in premium Japanese products abroad continues to expand,” Tsukioka said. “However, many artisans lack the resources, language support, and international channels needed to reach customers overseas. Japantastics exists to bridge that gap—not by simply selling products, but by communicating the value systems, techniques, and stories behind them.”

Unlike conventional e-commerce platforms, Japantastics focuses on discovering and highlighting unique, high-quality crafts and goods from Japan. The company strives to present products not as fleeting trends but as enduring, meaningful objects. Each item featured on the platform includes detailed information about its background, production philosophy, and modern-day relevance.

Japantastics plans to expand its offerings by seeking out lesser-known artisans across Japan, covering a spectrum from traditional crafts to contemporary manufacturing. Maintaining a highly selective and story-driven curation approach, the platform aims to serve as a cultural bridge connecting Japanese creators with a global audience that appreciates authenticity and quality over mass production.
