Tallgrass and Mitsubishi Power to Deliver Turbines for Wyoming Power Hub

Tallgrass and Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. have announced the delivery location for the first two M501JAC gas turbines, set to support Phase 1 of Tallgrass' Cheyenne Power Hub in southeast Wyoming. The turbines are expected to provide approximately 1,150 megawatts of power, fueled by natural gas from Tallgrass' Rockies Express Pipeline.

The Cheyenne Power Hub represents an investment exceeding $7 billion and is projected to create over 100 long-term jobs in the area. The power generated will be dedicated to a large-scale data center within the Switchgrass Industrial Park, designed to minimize community impacts by avoiding strain on the existing electricity grid.

The project includes a grid interconnection to support future renewable integration. Its proximity to Tallgrass' Trailblazer project, a significant carbon capture and sequestration initiative, positions the hub to further decarbonization efforts.

Bill Newsom, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Power Americas, highlighted the collaboration's role in delivering reliable power and supporting digital infrastructure while fostering economic growth in Wyoming. Governor Mark Gordon praised the project as a model of international cooperation and local resource utilization, emphasizing its benefits to Wyoming's economy and workforce.

Gary Watkins, Executive Vice President and CFO at Tallgrass, expressed gratitude for Governor Gordon's leadership and reiterated the company's commitment to creating multi-generational opportunities in Wyoming.

The arrival and installation of the first M501JAC turbine unit components are anticipated to begin in July, underscoring the partners' commitment to infrastructure resilience and pragmatic energy solutions.

Forward-looking statements in the announcement caution that actual results may differ due to various risks and uncertainties. Tallgrass does not intend to update these statements unless required by law.
