OMRON Healthcare Co., Ltd. has announced the integration of its ECG-enabled upper arm blood pressure monitors with Tricog Health Pte. Ltd.'s AI-powered cardiac triage service, Tricog CardioCheck (TCC). The service will be rolled out at health centers across India starting April 2026.
Tricog CardioCheck (TCC) leverages ECG data recorded by OMRON Healthcare's Complete blood pressure monitors, transmitting it to the cloud for analysis by Tricog's AI algorithms. The system provides a three-level risk assessment within approximately 10 seconds, aiding in patient triage and timely clinical evaluation. Healthcare professionals can access the results through a dedicated smartphone application, allowing them to assess patient risk levels in real time and determine the need for further examination, even in the absence of a cardiology specialist.
India faces a growing public health challenge with cardiovascular disease, as the number of patients is expected to rise from 110 million to 230 million by 2050. Access to specialized care is limited, with fewer cardiology specialists per capita compared to countries like Japan and the United States. Many cases of cardiovascular conditions go undetected until symptoms develop, making early identification crucial for effective management.
By integrating ECG measurement into routine blood pressure monitoring, Tricog CardioCheck (TCC) facilitates the identification of patients with underlying conditions that might otherwise remain undiagnosed. The system allows cardiovascular screening to be incorporated into existing workflows without significantly increasing the operational burden, enabling earlier detection and more prompt referrals for further evaluation.
OMRON Healthcare's initial investment in Tricog in fiscal year 2023 has strengthened the partnership, aiming to address healthcare challenges in India. Through this collaboration, both companies seek to expand access to innovative diagnostic solutions and improve cardiovascular health outcomes across the country.
