The 30th Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) commenced on March 17, 2026, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, gathering industry leaders to showcase productions and technologies while discussing international market trends.
Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), FILMART features over 790 exhibitors from 38 countries and regions, marking a record high in international participation. Emerging markets such as Belgium, Myanmar, Poland, Sri Lanka, and Uzbekistan are participating for the first time.
The event is part of the broader Entertainment Expo Hong Kong, which includes eight major entertainment events. The opening ceremony was officiated by key figures such as Chan Kwok Ki, Chief Secretary for Administration of HKSAR, and Rosanna Law, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of HKSAR.
Exhibitors from the Chinese Mainland, including Tencent Video, Bilibili, iQIYI, and Youku, are leveraging FILMART to expand their presence overseas. Hong Kong companies like Sil-Metropole Organisation and Mei Ah Entertainment are showcasing productions using virtual reality and AI.
FILMART also hosts Producers Connect, which facilitates cross-regional co-production opportunities by bringing together over 100 producers from Hong Kong and abroad. A dedicated forum on international co-productions will feature industry experts like Peter Chan and Janet Yang.
The AI Hub, introduced last year, returns with an expanded presence, featuring companies like Alibaba Cloud and MiniMax. The AI Academy, supported by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency, offers workshops on AI applications in filmmaking.
EntertainmentPulse, held alongside FILMART, addresses key industry issues such as global opportunities for short dramas and film financing. Industry leaders, including Justin Deimen of Goldfinch International, will discuss financing strategies in the Asian film industry.
The Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) runs concurrently, featuring 42 film projects from 22 countries, providing a platform for industry exchange and collaboration.
