Mitsubishi Motors Introduces New Versa Van in the Philippines

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has launched the all-new Versa Van in the Philippine market, expanding its commercial vehicle offerings. The vehicle, now available through Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation, marks an enhancement in the company’s lineup aimed at meeting diverse commercial needs.

The Versa Van, an OEM-supplied product by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., boasts a five-row seating capacity for up to 15 passengers and features a spacious interior designed for shuttle services and other commercial applications. It is powered by a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder diesel engine that promises strong torque, ensuring reliable performance even under heavy loads or challenging driving conditions.

This launch is part of a broader strategic collaboration between Mitsubishi Motors and Nissan under their alliance. This partnership focuses on joint development and production endeavors, particularly in next-generation pickup trucks and electrified vehicles. The Versa Van for the Philippine market is a result of this cooperative effort.

Furthering their alliance, Mitsubishi Motors has begun to supply Nissan with models like the Rogue Plug-in Hybrid for the North American market and the Navara for the Oceania region. Additionally, they've been supplying the Livina to the Philippines since 2022, a move that enhances plant utilization and broadens the model portfolio for both companies.

Looking ahead, Mitsubishi Motors is poised to receive an OEM supply of a new electric vehicle model derived from Nissan's latest LEAF design. This model is expected to be introduced in North America later in 2026, underscoring Mitsubishi's commitment to expanding its electrified vehicle offerings.

The company continues to emphasize partnerships as a strategy to diversify its product range, enhance regional strengths, and pursue initiatives that boost profitability.
