Mitsubishi Motors has commenced the production of two Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) models, the Rogue Plug-in Hybrid and Navara, for Nissan Motor Corporation. The company aims to launch these models in North America and the Oceania market, respectively.
The Rogue Plug-in Hybrid, for the North American market, production began on January 12 at Mitsubishi’s Okazaki Plant in Japan. The Navara production started earlier on December 20, 2025, at the Laem Chabang Plant of Mitsubishi Motors, Thailand. The move is set to enhance Nissan’s product lineup and improve Mitsubishi’s plant utilization.
The Rogue Plug-in Hybrid is slated for sale in North America in the first quarter of 2026. The Navara is scheduled to hit the Oceania market at the end of the same quarter. This tangible outcome stems from strong collaboration between both companies as Alliance partners on pickup truck development, production and electrified vehicle initiatives, and business expansion.
Furthermore, Mitsubishi will also receive an OEM supply of a new Electric Vehicle (EV) derivative from Nissan’s new Leaf. This new model is proposed for introduction in the North American market during the second half of 2026. Through these initiatives, Mitsubishi Motors continues its efforts to strengthen regional businesses and extend its product portfolio via different partnerships and expedite initiatives to boost profitability.
