Fujitsu Limited has announced a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aimed at enhancing corporate cyber defense capabilities in light of advancements in generative AI and increasingly complex enterprise systems. The strategy introduces a cyber defense lifecycle encompassing strategic planning, design, development, implementation, operation, evaluation, and improvement.
Central to this strategy is the Cyber Defense Operations Model, which systematizes the approach to building, operating, and improving corporate cyber defense capabilities. This is complemented by the Fujitsu Cyber Defense Framework, which serves as the practical implementation of the model. Additionally, the Cyber Nerve System has been established to detect cyber threats and risks, providing visualization of observation and analysis results to guide cyber defense activities.
Fujitsu is also creating a virtual organization called the Cyber Security Nerve Center, which will support executive decision-making by reporting and making recommendations based on objective assessments from the Cyber Nerve System. This initiative consolidates knowledge from Fujitsu's Customer Zero initiatives and customer engagements, driving cybersecurity strategy across organizational functions while incorporating market, threat, and technology trends.
The strategy involves evaluating and integrating advanced technologies from Fujitsu Research, Uvance Wayfinders, service development divisions, and external partners. Fujitsu plans to develop new products and functions as needed, verifying their effectiveness in its own environment before deploying them to customers. This includes advanced defense functions such as AI-powered consulting, vulnerability assessment, AI Threat Hunting, and AI Red Team Operations.
Fujitsu emphasizes continuous support for customers through their cyber defense journey, from strategic planning to continuous improvement. By identifying gaps between the overall picture of cyber defense and the customer's current situation, Fujitsu aims to enhance enterprise cyber defense capabilities and resilience in the AI era.
In response to the increasing sophistication and automation of cyberattacks, Fujitsu's strategy acknowledges the necessity of rethinking cyber defense as a critical management priority. The Cyber Defense Operations Model consists of four sub-models: the Domain Model, Philosophy Model, Relationship Model, and Proximity Model. These models define defense targets, philosophy, responsibilities, and levels, supporting continuous improvement of defense capabilities and cyber resilience.
Fujitsu's future plans include promoting its cybersecurity strategy with the Nerve Center as its core, offering consulting services, system construction and operation services, and AI-powered defense services. The company also aims to expand services like advanced monitoring and automated response, and implementation support using AI agents.
Additionally, Fujitsu is focused on developing specialized cybersecurity human resources through its Security Meister program, fostering professionals such as internal white hat hackers and Security Architects to support next-generation cyber defense.
