Hitachi High-Tech Corporation has announced plans to establish the Innovation Center Eindhoven at the High Tech Campus in the Netherlands, scheduled to open in July 2026. The center will focus on developing semiconductor-related technologies through open innovation with local academia and deep tech companies.
The High Tech Campus Eindhoven is a significant hub for advanced semiconductor technologies in Europe, hosting over 12,500 employees and more than 300 companies. The new center aims to leverage this environment to accelerate the development and market introduction of new technologies, particularly in the semiconductor field.
Hitachi High-Tech's decision to establish the center is part of its strategy to enhance research and development by collaborating with external partners. The company has been conducting research on electron beam technology with institutions such as Delft University of Technology and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research. The new center will enable rapid and innovative development, reducing the time to market and facilitating mass production.
The center will be primarily operated by Hitachi High-Tech Europe GmbH and will actively recruit local staff. It will also expand collaborations with academia and deep tech companies across Europe, focusing on the Netherlands.
Otto van den Boogaard, CEO of High Tech Campus Eindhoven, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Hitachi High-Tech Europe GmbH, highlighting the potential for new collaborations in the semiconductor value chain. Osamu Komuro, Senior Vice President and Executive Officer at Hitachi High-Tech, emphasized the center's role in accelerating technological innovation and enhancing customer value.
Kazuyoshi Matsukaze, Executive Officer of Hitachi High-Tech and President of Hitachi High-Tech Europe GmbH, noted that the new hub in Eindhoven would enhance the company's ability to develop innovative solutions and foster mutual growth with customers.
