Fujitsu to Develop AI Platform for Japanese Financial Institutions

Fujitsu Limited announced plans to develop the “Uvance for Finance AI Transformation Platform,” an AI platform aimed at enhancing AI utilization among financial institutions in Japan, starting August 1, 2026.

The platform will incorporate Fujitsu's proprietary “Kozuchi Enterprise AI Factory,” ensuring data sovereignty and AI trustworthiness. It will feature the “Takane” large language model, designed to accommodate the specific business practices and legal frameworks of the financial sector, as well as generative AI trust technologies to address security concerns.

Fujitsu's initiative aims to support financial institutions in securely integrating AI into their operations, transforming business processes into AI-driven workflows. The platform is expected to address current challenges faced by financial institutions, such as the secure utilization of AI amidst cyber threats and the shortage of skilled personnel for AI deployment.

The “Uvance for Finance AI Transformation Platform” will offer a comprehensive solution, integrating data sovereignty and operational control with trusted AI capabilities. The “Takane” model will support tasks like loan screening and document verification, optimizing AI usage costs through a flexible pricing model.

Fujitsu plans to launch the platform in March 2027, extending its application to areas such as branch office operations, compliance, and customer service. The company aims to foster a co-creation ecosystem, allowing financial institutions to share and utilize AI agents and business expertise.

This development is positioned as a core element in the evolution of “Uvance for Finance,” aiming to improve productivity, enhance customer engagement, and establish sustainable competitiveness for financial institutions.
