Anime Tokyo Station Reaches 300,000 Visitors Milestone

Anime Tokyo Station, an exhibition center dedicated to Japanese anime, has reached a significant milestone by welcoming its 300,000th visitor since its opening in October 2023. The facility, operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Association of Japanese Animations, aims to promote the global appeal of Japanese anime.

The milestone was achieved on June 20, 2026, with the 300,000th visitors being a pair of guests who were presented with anime merchandise. Expressing their delight, one visitor noted, “I’m so happy—I never imagined I would be the 300,000th visitor!”

Anime Tokyo Station offers a range of exhibits, including approximately 50,000 materials related to past anime production processes on its first basement floor. The facility provides insights into traditional hand-drawn animation methods and showcases tools and materials from earlier production processes.

On the second floor, special exhibitions on popular anime are held regularly, featuring both current broadcasts and titles gaining attention internationally. Currently, the second floor hosts a special exhibition for the TV anime “BLEACH: THE BLOOD WARFARE – The Calamity,” which will run until August 16, 2026.

Anime Tokyo Station, located at Tokyu East 5 in Minami-Ikebukuro, Tokyo, is easily accessible from Ikebukuro Station. It operates from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with free admission. The facility is closed on Mondays, except when Monday is a holiday, in which case it opens and closes the following day.
