Mitsubishi Motors and FPT Japan Holdings Sign MoU for Software Collaboration

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with FPT Japan Holdings Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Vietnam's FPT Corporation, to explore collaboration in software and digital technologies. This collaboration aims to respond to technological transformations in the automotive industry, driven by innovations such as CASE, AI, and Software-Defined Vehicles.

The agreement sets the stage for discussions on potential areas and business schemes for collaboration, with an eye toward possibly establishing a joint venture in the future. Dr. Truong Gia Binh, founder and chairman of FPT Corporation, highlighted the significance of this collaboration in contributing to Japan's technological vision, which includes advancements in AI, quantum computing, and marine robotics.

Takao Kato, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors, emphasized the potential to expand business opportunities by combining Mitsubishi's expertise in mobility with FPT's technological capabilities. This partnership is part of Mitsubishi's strategy to strengthen its mid- to long-term competitiveness in the evolving automotive landscape.
