Fujitsu Partners with Panasonic to Develop Carbon Footprint Platform

Fujitsu Limited announced the initiation of a Carbon Footprint of Products (CFP) calculation platform for the Panasonic Group, utilizing its 'Sustainability Value Accelerator' solution. The platform, implemented by Panasonic Digital Co., Ltd., aims to streamline and standardize CFP calculations across the group, with full-scale operations expected by April 2027.

The new platform is designed to enhance operational efficiency and adapt to regulatory changes, supporting the decarbonization of Panasonic's supply chain. This move comes as the manufacturing sector faces increased pressure to reduce environmental impacts and improve information disclosure.

Fujitsu's solution, developed under its 'Uvance' business model, offers high interoperability and scalability, conforming to global standards set by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). The platform ensures seamless data integration and supports environmental information disclosure by aggregating CO2 emissions data and providing traceability across the supply chain.

By leveraging advanced technologies such as AI and Materials Informatics, Fujitsu aims to transform environmental initiatives into revenue opportunities, enhancing competitive advantage and business growth. The collaboration with Panasonic Digital marks a significant step toward achieving a sustainable and transparent value chain.
