The Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO) has announced the creation of a new entity, Japan Professional Golf Tour Co., Ltd. (J-Tour), to handle tour operations and enhance business development. This strategic move, effective from March 17, 2026, seeks to improve the value and sustainability of Japan's men's professional golf tours.
Under the new organizational structure, J-Tour will collaborate closely with the Nippon Sangyo Suishin Kiko Group (NSSK), leveraging its expertise in investment and management to bolster the tours. The JGTO will focus on player and competition management, whereas J-Tour will oversee tour operations, planning, business development, and commercialization.
This division of roles is designed to enhance operational efficiency and agility, enabling JGTO to concentrate on competitive and regulatory aspects while J-Tour drives growth and innovation. J-Tour's corporate structure seeks to unlock the full potential of Japan's men's professional golf amidst a dynamic market environment.
The new strategy centers around maximizing fan engagement through on-site experiences and digital channels. J-Tour plans to enhance media content production, develop a centralized media platform, and support players with improved welfare programs, covering participation costs and career development.
Yutaka Morohoshi, Chairman of JGTO, emphasized the importance of the new framework in enhancing competition quality and player development. Jun Tsusaka, CEO of NSSK, stated their commitment to building a sustainable economic ecosystem for Japan's professional golf to compete globally through robust governance and strategic involvement.
