Polyplastics’ DURACON POM Transforming Material Handling Efficiency

Polyplastics Co., Ltd.'s DURACON(R) POM resin has been chosen for use in an innovative crawler track transport system by Tokyo-based CuboRex Co., Ltd., aiming to enhance efficiency in factory and construction settings. The system, distinguished by its structural crawler covering made of DURACON POM, promises improved work performance over traditional caster carts.

Selected for its robust load-bearing capacity and friction properties, DURACON POM ensures strength and stability under heavy-duty conditions, performing well even in harsh environments. A comparative analysis with other resins, including PA, led to its adoption as an optimal choice.

The trolley crawlers from CuboRex offer easy installation on existing trolleys, effectively spreading the load and minimizing ground pressure. This design reduces friction resistance, accelerates smooth travel over uneven surfaces, and boosts turning ability. The operational ease with reduced force requirements alleviates operator strain significantly, allowing better integration with tow trucks and automated guided vehicles without hindrance from stops or cargo loss.

With growing demand for material handling improvements both locally and globally, the adaptation of such crawler systems presents substantial efficiency benefits. By repurposing existing carts rather than investing in new equipment, businesses can achieve cost savings while enhancing safety measures. This advancement in transport operations is expected to find applications across various sectors including logistics, construction, and manufacturing.
