Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation (MCO), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group, has acquired all shares of AST Turbo AG, a Swiss company specializing in rotating equipment maintenance services. The acquisition was finalized on February 27.
AST Turbo AG is known for its maintenance, inspection, and field services for rotating equipment such as compressors and steam turbines, which are critical in resource and energy development sectors, including oil and gas. The company boasts experienced technical supervisors and advanced engineering capabilities, including virtual assembly technology that leverages 3D laser measurements.
With a strong track record in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and other regions, AST Turbo AG has established itself as a reliable service provider. Through this acquisition, MCO aims to bolster its field service system in international markets, addressing the growing demand for shorter inspection intervals and enhanced use of virtual assembly technology.
MCO and AST Turbo AG have a history of collaboration, having jointly provided field services on several projects.
