Lockheed Martin and Fujitsu Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expedite the development of dual-use technologies, combining their expertise to enhance capabilities in critical areas such as quantum computing, edge computing, and artificial intelligence.
The partnership aims to leverage Lockheed Martin’s integrated systems expertise alongside Fujitsu’s technology and commercial reach to innovate in quantum solutions, advanced microelectronics, and multi-domain network solutions. The collaboration, company executives said, will accelerate technological advancements essential to future customer needs.
Craig Martell, Lockheed Martin’s vice president and chief technology officer, emphasized the partnership’s potential to enhance leadership in key technology areas, expressing optimism about delivering innovations swiftly to customers. Vivek Mahajan, Fujitsu’s chief technology officer, highlighted the collaboration’s strategic importance in strengthening the competitive standing of both companies.
This MOU builds on a previous agreement from May 2025, under which Fujitsu was selected as a supplier for Lockheed Martin’s SPY-7 Subarray Suite Power Supply Line Replaceable Unit, solidifying strategic ties aimed at bolstering Japan’s defense industrial base.
The collaboration reflects a growing trend among defense and technology firms to pool resources and expertise, responding to increasing global demands for advanced ICT technologies applicable in both commercial and defense sectors. By tapping into each other’s strengths, Lockheed Martin and Fujitsu aim to advance solutions that are pivotal to their respective industries and the markets they serve.
