Hitachi Ltd. and Hitachi Building Systems Co. are set to expand their customer co-creation research facility, the Hitachi Building Solutions Lab, in Tokyo. The enhanced facility aims to accelerate digital innovation in building management and assist in achieving a harmonized society through its Inspire 2027 plan.
The revamped lab, reopening on March 2, 2026, will feature advanced exhibits utilizing AI, digital twin, and augmented reality technologies. These enhancements are part of Hitachi's efforts to tackle societal challenges such as workforce shortages and carbon neutrality.
The facility will showcase a digital twin solution for building management, allowing visitors to experience the operation of a guide robot in a simulated space. Solutions for air conditioning and demand control will also be displayed, focusing on decarbonization efforts and reducing energy costs.
As part of these initiatives, Hitachi will present seamless movement solutions within buildings to support varied work styles and enhance user safety and quality of life. Such innovations include integrated elevators connected to mobile robots and systems that link to electric vehicles during outages.
Furthermore, the exhibition will demonstrate Hitachi’s comprehensive solution capabilities, including AI safety solutions for improved work efficiency and safety, a generative AI agent for industrial equipment, and connected home appliances.
The fully attended tours by reservation will primarily target developers, designers, constructors, and building management professionals. The site is open on weekdays, except for public holidays and Hitachi's non-business days.
