Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has made a major business decision. The automaker announced it would cease production of a current model of fuel cell system, produced at Fuel Cell System Manufacturing LLC (FCSM) in the U.S., before the end of 2026. The production facility is a joint venture between Honda and General Motors (GM).
Honda’s decision to discontinue the fuel cell system production signifies a shift in the company’s strategy. Fuel cells have been a focal point in industry discussions regarding sustainable energy in the auto sector. However, the specifics of Honda’s future directions after discontinuing the current fuel cell model remain unclear.
